As a freelance VBA developer, I have had the privilege of working on a wide range of projects around the world. They have ranged from simple quoting tools to tools responsible for hundreds of millions of dollars worth of transactions a year.

The tools I have developed have helped companies save time, money, and lots of effort. I achieved this by combining our programming skills with our knowledge of business systems and processes.

Hedge Fund Management Tool

A tool that collated the purchasing requirements across over 150 manufacturing facilities, and hedged all of the risks involved. The tool raised the required legal paperwork and monitored the hedging over the following years.

Centralised Purchasing Tool

Amalgamated purchase requirements of outlets across Europe and combined them with factors such as marketing drives and weather forecasts. This allowed our client to make more efficient and centralised purchasing decisions.

Lease Pricing Comparison Engine

Our tool gathered leasing information from dozens of leasers, covering hundreds of thousands of price combinations. It then allowed our client to identify and market the most cost-effective deals to their customers.

National Stock Management System

Our stock control tool allowed our client to monitor stock levels on their team of fitter’s vans. When their fitters returned to the depot replenishment stock would be ready and waiting for them. This maximised their fitting time.

Debt Management CRM Tool

This tool helped our client manage and automate the recovery of over £100m in debt. At key stages chase up documents were created or chase up calls were scheduled. This allowed their small team to deal with twice as many debtors as before.

Getting Away From The Spreadsheets

I am a grandfather to an ever-growing collection of grandkids (6 at the last count) and they swallow up most of my time away from spreadsheets.

For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about children’s causes and charities. As a result, I have;

Worked on the ground in Kosovo delivering aid and rebuilding schools.
Raised over £100k for a local children’s hospice by organising various charity events including the Welsh premiere of Casino Royale.
Been banned from Bulgaria for being an activist campaigning for children’s rights in Bulgaria.
Organised special advanced film screenings (Harry Potter etc) for terminally ill children and their families.

I am currently looking for ways to use the skills I gained in Kosovo on projects in the Ukraine. This is an ongoing project at the moment.

To keep the grey matter ticking over, I am currently working towards a BSc (Hons) in Computing and IT with the Open University.

The very little remaining time I have is usually spent video gaming – I have been a massive gamer since the 1970s. All of my grandkids are also gamers (well the ones that are big enough to pick up a controller are) so we have a fair few gaming nights together.

When you buy a new house, you get to produce a snagging list for the builder to put right before you move in. We do the same. Once you receive your completed project, you have 60 days to report any snags and we will tweak/fix them for free.

3 Years of Free Bug Fixing

Our coding carries a three-year warranty, and any bugs will be fixed free during that period. Just get in touch and will fix any issue as quickly as we can. (Just so you know, no one has ever needed to use this warranty).
